Here comes the Bride, complete with a fully armed escort.
I'm a bit of a fan of weddings. I have been, ever since I was asked to be Engineering Girls bridesmaid. It really felt as if I were part of something special. The only part of it that I'm a little shaky with is the whole primping and zshoozing that goes on beforehand. I'm not really a girly girl, and I only wear makeup because I look marginally less frightful with it on.
(I was never good at colouring-in as a child.)
This last weekend, I got to combine my insane hobby with weddings. What fun! It drastically reduced the amount of time required to get ready for a big event. However, this is the first wedding where I've had to get dressed by the side of a road - with just a Modesty Ute to protect me from the prying eyes of the public.
It's also the first wedding where I've attended wearing black lycra and white plastic!
We were there to ensure that the wedding wasn't crashed by stray rebellious insurgents wearing daggy brown cloaks wafting glowey sticks around in the air. I even got to walk the Bride down the aisle - an honour I didn't expect. You cant really tell it was me though, because of course, I was wearing a bucket over my head. See, Engineering Girl? Sure, you've driven a tractor with a bucket on your head, but have you ever waltzed down a wedding aisle??
Not waxed your eyebrows? Forgot to shave the legs?
No need to do the fakeup! No need to do the hair!
Plop the bucket on, and she's as good as done!!
Simply awesome.
